Welcome back to NuWu Cannabis Marketplace, where we are excited to celebrate the 2nd Annual NuWu Cup! Last year we hosted a 2-day cannabis festival that combined the best brands of the cannabis industry with the flare of the local Las Vegas culture. We got to enjoy DJ sets, cultivators showing their knowledge, and food trucks to satisfy even the most roaring munchies. This year we're changing the rules of the game and creating more opportunities to bring cannabis to the consumers and make the NuWu Cup as immersive as possible. What is The NuWu Cup?
The COVID-19 pandemic struck the world and left everyone in silence and shock. Here in Las Vegas, Nevada, we were impacted by the closing of the Casino industry (which provided jobs for over 80,000 residents), and many locals found it difficult to deal with the stress and anxiety that followed. During the pandemic, cannabis was quickly deemed an essential business. People from all walks of life started to join the cannabis industry and consume cannabis to support their strained mental and physical health.
The cannabis industry in Nevada has since grown exponentially, and now we have more variety of products and consumers than ever before. Yet, cannabis still carries the stigma that it's a harmful substance and even those who have joined the cannabis industry hesitate to become consumers.
Since the pandemic, NuWu Cannabis Marketplace has set out on a mission to create an event that would bring together cannabis enthusiasts from all across Nevada. This event celebrates the cannabis plant and industry that restored the Las Vegas community during an unprecedented time. Like last year, we made sure to sponsor judges for the NuWu Cup that are not affiliated with cultivators and are passionate about finding superior products in the market.
The NuWu Cup was created in December of 2021 as a unique experience where prominent cannabis influencers were handpicked to select the industry's top-quality products across various categories. A 2-day festival and awards ceremony was then held to celebrate the most aromatic and effective cannabis products in the Nevada market. The crowds were eager to enjoy sampling products live at the very heart of Downtown Las Vegas on Main Street!
This event featured many highlights that are only here in Las Vegas. Such as the electrifying music of DJ Romeo and DJ E. Rock, the wide assortment of food trucks like Backporch BBQ, Birrieria Dimas, Milkshake Wasted, & cannabis cultivators from across the Nevada market. Green Life Productions, Tsunami, Matrix NV, WYLD, and many more brands attended to see who would come out on top of the competition.
Judges got to publicly consume and discuss beloved brands and strains. Meanwhile, event participants got to wander through an array of vendor booths that held prizes, discussions about the history of their brands, and even options to sample a selection of cannabis products on the spot. This first-ever cannabis festival immediately became a hit, and we could not wait to enhance the experience for this year.
Presenting the Consumer's Choice Awards
This year, we're doing things differently to get the consumers more involved! The NuWu Cup will now be presenting the Consumer's Choice Awards. The Consumer's Choice Awards is an opportunity to open up the judge's panel to all consumers of the cannabis industry, whether you're a beginner or a cannasseur. This will be the largest consumer-led cannabis contest in Las Vegas, Nevada. We're excited to bring you this experience so you can help us decide on the best Nevada cannabis brands.
This year, however, has also brought many changes to NuWu Cannabis Marketplace. With the construction of our new facility, we have far less space to hold a festival like last year. Instead, we're creating a hybrid physical and virtual experience for the NuWu Cup & Consumer's Choice Judges. The Judges will be able to pick up their Judge Bags in-store and take it with them. Then Judges will be able to sample the products from home and try select sample products in the Vegas Tasting Room right here in NuWu Cannabis Marketplace.
Through the Consumer's Choice Awards, consumers can sample anonymous products and rate them based on the Scent, Taste & Effect categories. This is an opportunity for the public to take part in deciding who are the best brands in the Nevada industry and celebrating the cannabis plant.
The Rules of the Game
Judge Bags will be available starting October 17th for purchase in-store. The products will be completely anonymous and come with a NuWu Cup Sessions Journal™ so that you can describe each product's best (and not-so-great) parts. Your Judge Bag will also include a postcard to guide you through voting. All judges will have until December 7th to submit their product reviews. We'll host a live-streamed event on New Year's Eve to announce the top cannabis products in the Nevada market.

Notice about the Vapes & Extracts Categories in the Vegas Tasting Room
This year the Vapes & Extracts categories will be available to sample in the Vegas Tasting Room. This will allow consumers to try out the extracts & vapes with our Tasting Room experts to help them get the cleanest and freshest high so these products can be judged fairly!
All you need to do is bring your product sample ticket to the Vegas Tasting Room, where our experts will provide you with the products to sample at the moment.
